Valeska’s Teaming Review

6:21   |  Teacher: Valeska Bass

In promoting student learning, educators must work together to share strategies, coordinate joint instructional efforts, and plan for the success of individual students. In this video, watch how Valeska and two additional members of the school’s literacy leadership team discuss how to use new grant funds to increase the use of multi-cultural, read-alouds in all classrooms in the school. The team is problem-solving “next steps” that include 1) what books need to be ordered; 2) where the books should be stored; and 3) how to get their colleagues involved in making multi-cultural books a “common every day experience” in each classroom at Bryant School (4d: Participating in the Professional Community: The teacher AND colleagues take a shared leadership role in promoting activities related to professional inquiry, AND 4f: Professionalism: The teacher AND colleagues take a leadership role in team and school-level decision making; ALL Distinguished).
