In this video, you will see Ms Eva, the teacher, and Ms. Apryl, the principal, discuss the work that Eva is doing in the area of professionalism. Charlotte Danielson’s focuses on professionalism in this way, “Expert teachers demonstrate professionalism in service both to students and to the profession…as [teachers] gain experience and expertise, educators find ways to contribute to their colleagues and to the profession.” (Framework Cluster 6: Professionalism 4d/4e/4f). Together these educators will explore the manner in which Eva is finding ways to contribute collaboratively with her colleagues, especially with her teaching assistant, Ms Vicki, as co-educators in the classroom. Ms Eva will also share how she has used her own professional goal for developing thematic-based units to really increase student engagement. In turn, Ms Apryl requests that Ms Eva share her approach to planning/instruction/assessment with other colleagues in the school.
